Are Young Authors Those Worth Listening To?

I'm a very young novelist. I happen to think my vocabulary is polished and refined, my manners in public are more than appropriate, and my story lines are interesting from what my family friends and neighbors tell me. I'm in the middle of writing a fantasy novel at the moment, and I need to know if anyone is going to care. I know some adults still believe that children should be seen and not heard. I'm mostly doing this writing thing for: 1. The fun of it | 2. I'm African American and I want to prove that not all the African American children in Atlanta are idiots | 3. I want to test the theory that children should be seen and not heard.
